MORONGO VALLEY MAN ARRESTED FOR EARLY RELEASE PROBATION VIOLATION

A Morongo Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning after he was found to be in violation of his early release probation. About 10:45 yesterday, deputies went to the 9000 block of Lanning Lane to conduct a probation check on Brye McDonald, 40, who was on supervised probation for possession of an explosive device. Deputies found McDonald to be in possession of narcotics. Brye McDonald was arrested for investigation of possession of narcotics and for violating his probation, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000. McDonald had been released from prison as part of Assembly Bill 109, offenders with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions serve reduced sentences in county jails and some offenders are placed on local supervision through county Probation to comply with a Court order requiring the state to lower its prison population by 30,000.
