MARTIN LUTHER KING JR MARCH IN TWENTYNINE PALMS TOMORROW

“We shall overcome.”
The celebrated civil rights leader, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., made the this phrase the unofficial motto of the Civil Rights movement.
“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice.”
Commemorating Dr. King’s birthday, which is celebrated Monday, January 19, the Twentynine Palms Bible Baptist Church will hold its 15th annual march.
“Deep in my heart, I do believe, we shall overcome.”
The one-mile march starts at 8 a.m. at Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road and ends at Palms Southern Baptist Church, 5285 Adobe Road. Following the march will be a program with Twentynine Palms Mayor Joel Klink, local speakers and performances from church groups. Lunch will follow. The theme this year is “We Shall Overcome.”

“This will be a great America! We will be the participants in making it so.”
The public is invited to join in the march and attend the program.
