MAN TRIES TO BURN OUT SNAKE IN YARD IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Many of us can sympathize with the Twentynine Palms resident who went to drastic measures yesterday to rid his yard of a snake he thought he saw under a bush. An unidentified man in the 6300 block of Cahuilla Avenue told Sheriff’s deputies he decided to burn it out. The resident started the bush on fire, and the fire department showed up about 11:15 a.m. The fire department reminds residents that burn permits—which are available from your local fire station— are required for all fires. The resident was advised not to use fire as a means to eradicate pests. No word on whether the snake—if there was indeed a snake—survived.
