MAN KILLED IN CRASH WITH BIG RIG IN JOHNSON VALLEY MONDAY NIGHT

A man was killed in Johnson Valley last night when his Toyota crashed head on into a big rig on Old Woman Springs Road. About 11 p.m., a man, who has not yet been identified, was driving his Toyota westbound on Highway 247 near Valley Vista when for unknown reasons the small car crashed head on into a semi truck hauling paper goods. The impact of the crash overturned the semi’s trailer and caused a gasoline leak, spilling 100 gallons of fuel onto the highway. The road was closed for several hours during the investigation and as teams from Cal Trans and HazMat workers worked to clean up the fuel leak.
