The Yucca Valley Planning Commission will hold a public hearing tonight about a request from Hope Academy to expand its school. Hope Academy is an independent studies charter school that occupies 90,000 square feet in the Town Center Mall; school officials want to add 10 classrooms and a multi-purpose room, for an additional 14,000 square feet and a maximum of 428 students. School hours are Monday through Friday, 8 to 4. The meeting will be held in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center, starting at 6 p.m.
