MAC LAND USE COMMITTEE LOOKS AT JOSHUA TREE RESTRICTIONS TOMORROW

The Land Use Study Committee of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council will hold a meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday May 20, in the Building and Safety office at the County Government Building in Joshua Tree. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a “formula retail” ordinance for downtown Joshua Tree. “Formula retail” is another name for “chain store.” San Francisco and Solvang are among California cities that have ordinances regulating such stores, and the Malibu Planning Commission has recently approved one.
