LECTURE ON CHRISTMAS FOOD AT HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM TOMORROW

A look at Holiday foods from around the world will be given at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum tomorrow. Managing Editor Tami Roleff invites you to the noon Brown Bag Lecture….
Most of us serve the same foods for Thanksgiving and Christmas: roast turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. In times past, some of the holiday foods included swan and peacock, complete with feathers; a nice side dish of tongue; and plum pudding. Tomorrow’s Brown Bag lecture by the Hi-Desert Nature Museum’s coordinator Stephanie Ritter will focus on the history and meaning of many of our favorite holiday dishes. Participants are welcome to bring their own stories and recipes to share. The lecture will be held at the nature museum in Yucca Valley, starting at noon. Admission is $5. Bring a brown bag lunch if desired.
