LEARN ABOUT THE NOSE AND TONGUE AT HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM SATURDAY

Science Saturdays continues this weekend at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley. Reporter Taylor Thacker says this week, learn about the nose and tongue…
The Hi-Desert Nature Museum continues their popular education program, Science Saturdays, with exciting topics in March. On Saturday, March 8, the topic will be the nose and tongue. Most people would easily associate the nose with smelling, but it actually helps with tasting too. The human nose receptors are 10,000 times more sensitive than taste buds, so a delicious cookie simply would not taste as scrumptious without the nose. Join Museum Educator Crystal Mason for this Science Saturday as she teaches children how to taste with both their tongue and nose. This program takes place at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. and is for school aged children. Science Saturdays are free and no pre-registration is required. For more information, call 760-369-7212. Come out and learn something new this Saturday!
