LARGE AMOUNT OF HEROIN FOUND IN YUCCA VALLEY ARREST

Two Yucca Valley men were arrested Thursday morning, accused of possessing a large amount of heroin. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Bruce Southworth, deputies, assisted by the Narcotics division, served a search warrant at a home in the 7700 block of Balsa Avenue, and at a storage unit, both in Yucca Valley. During the search, deputies located a large amount of heroin packaged for sales, as well as about $10,000 in property which may have been stolen from local retailers. Benito Cardenas, 40, and Carl Campbell, 29, were arrested for investigation of possession of heroin for sales, and were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail. Both have since been released on $50,000 bail. Southworth said Karen Tandoi, 47, is a resident of the home, and charges are pending against her. The possible stolen property was recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
