LANDERS MAN ARRESTED FOR DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE OF HEROIN

A Landers man was arrested Tuesday afternoon, accused of driving while high. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was patrolling and following a black pick up truck on Reche Road in Landers about 3:30 when the truck abruptly turned north onto Single Tree Road at about 60 miles per hour. The deputy followed and contacted the driver at a residence in the 56800 block of Marquita Lane. The driver, later identified as Richard Salazar, 21, ran into the home. Inside the truck, the deputy discovered heroin. Richard Salazar was arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance, and driving under the influence, cited and released.
