JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR FALSE 9-1-1 CALLS ALLEGING RAPE

A juvenile girl was arrested Monday after making false calls to 911 stating she had been raped. According to a Sheriff’s report, 911 received text messages from a cell phone, starting about 10:25 a.m., that a friend had been raped. The messages described being in a basement and a name of the victim. Through an investigation, deputies located the friend and the friend’s parents, which led to an address in Yucca Valley. Residents at that address gave information which led to another home in Yucca Valley, where deputies found the girl and her phone. The report states that although the girl admitted to making the fake 911 calls, all messages and phone calls had been erased from the phone when deputies arrived. The girl was cited for making false 911 calls and released to her father.
