JOSHUA TREE PEDESTRIAN STRUCK AND KILLED CROSSING HIGHWAY

A Joshua Tree man was struck and killed last night running on State Route 62, just 20 to 30 yards west of a traffic signal with a marked crosswalk. According to the county Coroner, at 7:34 p.m., Jonathan Ramsey Dubois, 25, who was wearing dark-colored clothing, was in the eastbound number 1 lane of Highway 62, just west of Park Boulevard in Joshua Tree when he was struck by a 2002 Jeep Wrangler who was traveling eastbound on Highway 62. Dubois was transported to Hi Desert Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
