JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION BRANCH

The parks are America’s greatest classroom, telling our stories, and conserving the best natural spaces offered. At Joshua Tree National Park our Environmental Education branch provides curriculum-based programs to students from kindergarten through 12th grade throughout the southern California desert area. Offering both in-park and in-class programs, education staff present topics in natural and cultural history, helping students learn more about the geology, wildlife, human history and prehistory of what is now Joshua Tree National Park. Programs are scheduled by teacher request and are presented free of charge.

Transportation is not provided and must be arranged through each school site, although the park is sometimes able to fund buses on a limited basis through the generosity of the Joshua Tree National Park Association. Contact the park for more information about school program opportunities at 760-367-3012.

We wish to thank the park’s education program for supporting the mission of the National Park Service by encouraging youth to experience their park through hands-on learning, deepening their knowledge of its resources.

This is park ranger Pam Tripp, encouraging you to enjoy the solace, wonder, and wild of your national park.
