JOSHUA TREE MAN ARRESTED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND 4TH DUI

A Joshua Tree man who has three prior conviction for driving under the influence was arrested for DUI and domestic battery following a fight with his girlfriend Saturday night. According to a Sheriff’s report, Robert Utter, 38, was arguing with his girlfriend in the 60400 block of Natoma Trail in Joshua Tree about 10:30 p.m. His girlfriend told deputies that Utter grabbed their child and threw the baby on the bed. Then he grabbed her, threw her on the bed, and then slammed her to the ground. The woman told deputies he also took her cell phone and broke it. Utter then left his home and drove to his mother’s residence in the 7400 block of Elata Avenue in Yucca Valley about 11 p.m. Saturday. The report states that when a deputy contacted Utter at the Yucca Valley address, Utter said he had drunk a few beers prior to driving to Yucca Valley. After an investigation, Robert Utter was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, driving under the influence, and violation of his felony probation. Utter was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000, but he is being held without bail due to his probation violation.
