JOSHUA TREE MAN ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF CHILD MOLESTATION

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Saturday morning, accused of sexually molesting a young girl. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman called 911 shortly before 2 a.m. to report that her sister had been molested by a man across the street in the 62100 block of Crestview Drive in Joshua Tree. The woman’s call was disconnected before dispatchers could get any additional information, and the woman then went to a neighbor’s house and pounded on the door, yelling for help. After an investigation, Michael Cavanaugh, 25, was arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a child. Michael Cavanaugh was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $250,000.
