JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Friday, accused of beating up his wife allegedly because she refused to be a part of selling drugs. According to a Sheriff’s report, Shawn Lamar, 38, was arguing with his wife about 11 a.m. Friday in the 6500 block of Sunset Road because he wanted to sell drugs to make money. The report states that while his wife was on the bed, he grabbed her and threw her to the floor, then stood over her and punched her in the face. Lamar is also accused of squeezing her so hard that she couldn’t breathe, at which time she bit his arm, and then fled the home. After an investigation, Shawn Lamar was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
