If you plan on driving back to the Morongo Basin from Las Vegas Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, don’t. Southbound Interstate 15 will be completely closed down during the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 17, from 1 to 4 a.m. All southbound traffic will be diverted OFF the freeway at Primm and be held the entire three hours while CalTrans crews install new overhead signs on the freeway. CalTrans urges travelers to avoid southbound Interstate 15 during the closure hours. If you must travel through the area between 1 and 4 a.m. Wednesday, make sure your vehicle is in good running condition, and bring plenty of water. Parking, food, and restrooms are available in Primm, Nevada.
