On the agenda at Monday’s meeting of the Homestead Valley Community Council is the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan. The Conservation Plan was formed in response to an executive order signed by Governor Schwarzenegger that raised California’s renewable energy goals to 33 percent by 2020. The conservation plan not only facilitates the review and approval of renewable energy projects in the deserts of southern California, but it also assures compliance with the endangered species acts. County Supervisor James Ramos has signed a letter to the planners insisting that stakeholder meetings be held here, and this meeting is an opportunity to add your voice to the demand. The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. at the Flamingo Heights Community Center on Perris Road, behind Hero Catering.
