HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat Track and Field team traveled to Temecula for the Great Oak Distance Invitational. Junior Steven Bloomfield earned a 17 second personal record in the 1600 meters; Makya Bullion was 0.34 seconds off the freshman meet record, but placed third and scored six points for the team. Adriann Miller ran an outstanding race in the 800 meters. William Gundy, David Knutson, and Travis Douglas each won their races and earned medals! The Wildcats of the Week were freshman D’Avion Oliver and senior Travis Douglas.

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan swimmers traveled to Riverside Community College Saturday for the King Invitational and competed with 16 teams. Ashlee Betts, Dania Felix, Moriah Goddard, Sophie Wargo, John Malagon, Bryant Pahl, and Sage Smith swam personal best times. Emily Kennedy qualified for CIF in the 200 yard Individual Medley and 100 yard butterfly.

 

Yesterday Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat Boys Tennis Team got their first pre-season win (11-7) against the visiting Indian Springs High School Coyotes from San Bernardino. Singles players Jarod Burks and Bradley Linkey swept, winning 3 out of 3 sets, and singles player John Lanza won 2 out 3. Edgar Sosa and doubles partner Sam Choi won 2 out of 3 sets, Marcus Simon and partner Scott Clinkscales won 1 out 3.

 

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat golf team will host Marywood-Palm Valley at home. Tee off is 2:45 p.m.

 

Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat swim team will host Apple Valley at home. The first event starts at 3 p.m.
