HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team notched their first win of the season with a 38-33 win over the Heritage Patriots in a second round game at the Mustang Tip-Off tournament in Hemet. Coach Jess Geeson said sophomore Savannah Beasley led the scoring with 12 points. She was followed by senior September Shaw-Fryer with eight points and junior Taylor Spitz added seven points. The win evened the Trojans record to 1-1 with a third round game versus Serrano Thursday night at 6 p.m.

On Monday, November 30, the Twentynine Palms girls’ varsity basketball team won their first game of the season at the West Valley Tournament in Hemet by the score of 61 to 55. Coach Tim Stanford said leading scorers on the night were Lindsey Scamman with 18 points, Tatiyanna Mackall with 12 points, Courtney Stanford with nine points, Destiny Dedmon with eight points and Taylor Tuivaiti with six points. It was a total team effort with 10 girls seeing court time.
