HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats tennis team played their first game of the CIF playoffs on Tuesday. The Wildcats hosted the San Bernardino Cardinals for the wildcard round. The Wildcats were defeated 11-7 by the Cardinals. The Wildcats were led by John Lanza, sweeping all three sets.

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan baseball team hosted the Desert Mirage Rams on Wednesday. Brian Schoenborn said the Yucca Valley offense started with the first pitch, which junior Colden McGarvie sent to the fence for a double. McGarvie got up twice in that inning and hit his second double of the game and the Trojans were off to a nine-run lead. The final score was 18-5. The win gives the Trojans a CIF playoff spot secured.
The Trojan junior varsity also won; the score was not reported.
