HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity tennis suffered a tough loss to Indian Springs High School Wednesday. The two teams tied 9 sets to 9 sets, and games had to be counted with Indian Springs coming out on top, 77 games to 74 games. Coach William Shay said Marcus Simon and Vincent Thomas led the Wildcats, sweeping all three sets for the second week in a row, while in singles play, Jarod Burks and John Lanza each won two sets, and Sam Choi won a set in the third round of play. The Cats are now 1-1 in non-league play.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School softball team will participate in the third day of the Needles tournament.

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat track team will travel to Oak Hills to take part in the High Desert Invitational meet, starting at 8 a.m.

The Wildcat baseball team travels to Hemet for the third day of the Cornerstone tournament. And the Lady Cat softball team hosts the Banning Pilots at home; first pitch is at 3:15.
