HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

Saturday, February 7, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Orange County and the J Serra Pavilion to compete in the Play 4 Kay Showcase for cancer research. The Wildcats defeated St. Bernard 61 to 31, to raise their record to 18-and-6 overall, and 10-and-0 in league play. Coach Tim Stanford said Lindsey Scamman had 28 points 16 rebounds; Courtney Stanford had nine points; Tatiyanna Mackall had eight points; and Nokomis Cabrera ran the point to perfection with two points, five assists, seven steals. All ten Wildcats saw significant playing time in a team win.

In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will travel away to Rancho Mirage High School. The girls play at 5, the boys at 6:30.

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will travel away to Thermal to play Desert Mirage High School. Tip-off for girls is at 5; boys at 6:30.

And the Joshua Springs Lightning boys’ basketball team will travel away to play Bloomington Christian School. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
