HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

Tuesday night, the Twentynine Palms High School girls’ varsity basketball team raised their record to 9 and 0 in league with a win over Shadow Hills High School, 57-to-29. Coach Michael Schneider said all 10 varsity players saw significant playing time. Defense was the star of the game. Leading the stat sheet were: Lindsey Scamman with 14 points and eight rebounds; Tatiyanna Mackall with 12 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, and four steals; Adriann Miller with eight points, and Courtney Stanford with eight points. Nokomis Cabrera played the role of facilitator while leading the ’Cats at the point guard position with five points, five assists, and five steals in an outstanding all-around game.

In high school sports today the Yucca Valley High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will play the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home. Tip off for the girls is at 6; the boys start at 7:30.

And the Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will play Rancho Mirage High School at home tonight. The girls start at 6; the boys at 7:30.

Coming up tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School girls’ wrestling team will participate in the CIF championship playoffs.
