HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULE

The Yucca Valley Lady Trojans Volleyball team played Shadow Hills High School yesterday. The varsity team lost 1-3. Leading the team were Ashley Priest, with seven kills and one block; Haley Rayburn, three kills and two blocks; Becky Messaros. 13 for 13 serving with seven assists; Jade Adair, 10 assists and three digs; Joelle Hazher, 12 for 13 serving, and six aces.

The junior varsity team lost 1-2. Leading the JV team were Becca Dumas, 16 for 17 serving, with eight aces and 17 assists; Kyley Beatty, eight kills; Kelcie Vigallon, three kills and two blocks; and Jackie Bohla with nine digs.

The freshman team won 2-0.

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team lost to the Big Bear Bears in three sets. The Ladycats were led by junior Courtney Stanford with three kills, and Hanna Beard with three kills, followed by senior Marie Linton with two kills. Sophomore Tatiyanna Mackall had one kill and two ace serves.

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Shadow Hills High School, 10-8. Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Carrie Scofield won with three, Rachel Green with one. In doubles, Aimee Frank and Cionne Lonergan with three; Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard with two and Aislinn Gueltzow and Christa Jenkins with one. The team record is now at 11-0 and they are ranked ninth in Divison 5.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat tennis and volleyball teams will host the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home. First serve for tennis is at 3:15; volleyball begins at 4:30.

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ volleyball team will host Rancho Mirage High School at home; first serve is at 4:30 p.m.
