HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats boys’ varsity tennis team hosted Yucca Valley Monday in conference play. The Wildcats came away with the victory 14-4. Coach William Shay said the Wildcats were led by John Lanza, sweeping all three of his sets, and Sam Choi and Jarod Burks, each winning two sets. In doubles action, the Wildcats were led by Marcus Simon and Vincent Thomas, sweeping all three of their sets, while Jose Valdez and Raul Hernandez took two of their sets, and Marquis Tarver, Frankie Muniz and Justion Ornalez Perez won two sets. The Wildcats are now 6-2 overall and 3-0 in league play.

In high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat golf team will travel away to Indio to play the Shadow Hills High School Knights. Tee time is 2:45 p.m.

Also tomorrow, the Joshua Springs Lightning baseball and softball teams will travel away to Calimesa to play the Mesa Grande Academy. Both games start at 3:15.
