The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan basketball team used a hot shooting fourth quarter to a 61-50 win at Desert Hot Springs. Coach Jess Geeson said sophomore Taylor Spitz led the scoring with 20 points, while Ashley Priest hit for 19 and Annika Dendekker added 12 points. With the win, the girls are now 14-4 overall and 4-0 in the De Anza League with a home game at 6 p.m. Thursday against Rancho Mirage

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ soccer teams continued home league play last night against the Rattlers of Rancho Mirage. The JV team lost 5-0 and varsity lost 11-1, with the lone goal coming in the first half off of a header by freshman Samuel Smith.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School boys and girls soccer teams will host the Rancho Mirage High School Rattlers at home. Girls’ soccer begins at 3:15; boys soccer at 5.

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams play Desert Mirage High School tomorrow. The girls play at home; the boys travel away to Thermal. Both games start at 5 p.m.
