HI-DESERT WATER HEARS STATE WILL DELAY SEWER DEADLINE

Among the items on the agenda of tonight’s meeting of the Hi-Desert Water District board of directors, is an update on the Yucca Valley septic prohibition ban. The California Regional Water Quality Control Board has delayed completion of the sewer system in Phase 1 until 2021, and in Phases 2 and 3 until 2025. The board will also hear a presentation on the hazard mitigation plan. Then the board will take the first steps to declare eminent domain for some properties for the sewer system. The board will close the meeting by re-organizing and naming new officers. The meeting will be held at 6:00 in district offices at the highway and Inca Trail in Yucca Valley.
