The Hi-Desert Nature Museum will be closed for maintenance from September 17 through September 26. A new exhibit, “Convincing the Nation,” will open Thursday, October 1. The exhibit includes more than 30 posters from World War II that were designed to influence and change public behavior. Public officials relied on posters and other large-scale publicity efforts to reach citizens with wartime messages. The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is located next to the Yucca Valley Community Center on Dumosa Avenue.
