DRUG ARRESTS IN YUCCA VALLEY
Two people were arrested Thursday morning after drugs were found in their vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a vehicle about 9:30 near Palomar Avenue and Onaga Trail in Yucca Valley for having an expired license registration tag. The passenger, Marcus Corona, 20, of Joshua Tree, immediately fled the vehicle. Assisting deputies gave chase on foot and took Corona into custody nearby. The driver of the vehicle, Cheryl Dvoracek, 26, was driving without a valid driver’s license. A search of the vehicle found methamphetamine, cash, drug paraphernalia, and an air gun that looked like a real handgun. Marcus Corona and Cheryl Dvoracek were both arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance for sales and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail. In addition, Corona had six additional charges for various drug charges, and failure to appear on three warrants for his arrest. His total bail is set at $80,000. Cheryl Dvoracek was released after posting a $50,000 bail bond.
RESISTING ARREST IN TWENTYNINE PALMS
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Thursday afternoon, accused of trying to flee from a deputy. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was driving in the 6100 block of Bagley Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 4 p.m., when a man, later identified as Robert Aide, 27, saw the deputy, ditched the BMX bike he was riding and ran into the home’s backyard. Aide then jumped over a fence and fled. After a short foot pursuit, deputies found Aide hiding in a closet in a home in the 6300 block of Tamarisk Avenue. Robert Aide was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, and for violating the terms of his post-release community supervision. Aide was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and is being held without bail.
STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST IN TWENTYNINE PALMS
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Thursday morning after he was found driving a stolen vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, Alfonso Mora, 50, was driving northbound on Adobe Road approaching Two Mile Road about 9 a.m. A deputy performed a records check on the vehicle and determined it had been reported stolen out of Moreno Valley. When the deputy stopped Mora’s vehicle, Mora at first gave a false name. He was later determined to be a parolee-at-large. Alfonso Mora was arrested for investigation of possession of stolen property, and for violating his parole, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000.

GRAND THEFT ARREST IN TWENTYNINE PALMS
A woman wanted on a $100,000 warrant was arrested early Thursday morning following a traffic stop for speeding. According to a Sheriff’s report, Gabriela Moreno, 31, was driving eastbound on Highway 62 when a California Highway Patrol officer stopped her near Lear Avenue at 1:40 a.m. A records check found that she was wanted on a warrant for grand theft. The Mercedes she was driving was towed due to Morena having a suspended driver’s license. Gabriela Moreno was arrested on her grand theft warrant, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $100,000.
