FAST WORK BY FIREFIGHTERS SAVE TWENTYNINE PALMS HOUSE

Twentynine Palms firefighters saved a house from being destroyed by fire early New Year’s Day. According to Fire Captain Robert Marquez, firefighters were called to the home in the 5400 block of Daisy Avenue shortly before 8 a.m., where they found smoke and flames coming from the garage behind the home. With the assistance of firefighters from the Combat Center, the blaze was put out within minutes, and firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage. The residents had evacuated the house prior to the arrival of the firefighters, and they were able to return to the house afterward. Damage is estimated at $25,000.
