FAMILY DISPLACED AFTER FRIDAY MORNING APARTMENT FIRE IN YUCCA VALLEY

A father and son are homeless after a Friday morning fire in Yucca Valley. Firefighters were called to the 57400 block of Lupine Avenue just before 9 a.m. There were no flames showing when firefighters arrive, but the windows in the second story apartment were black with smoke. The two male residents had escaped from their apartment safely. The fire was contained to contents in the living room and was quickly knocked down by firefighters from Yucca Valley, Yucca Mesa, Joshua Tree, and Morongo Valley. The Red Cross was called to assist the family. The cause is still under investigation.
