“EDWIN DROOD” CONTINUES WITH MATINEE

Theater 29 continues its run of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” with performances this Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.  Reporter Rebecca Havely has all the details…

As the murder mystery musical, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”, unfolds, you the audience decides just who done it.  That means the ending changes at each performance.  A troupe of Victorian era, music hall performers act out a murder mystery written by Charles Dickens.  Unfortunately the novel was never finished.  So even the actors don’t know how the mystery ends until you, the audience, cast your vote.  The cast includes many suspicious characters a drug addicted music teacher, a curious pair of twins from the Orient, a priest and an Opium den madam.  The cast sings and dances in big show stopping numbers all is clad in award worthy costumes on a set that transports you to a Victorian era Music Hall.  This Saturday evening the curtain rises at 7 p.m. This Sunday see the 2:30 p.m. matinee performance.
