DRUG ARRESTS IN WONDER VALLEY

Two men were arrested Thursday following a probation compliance check in Wonder Valley. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies went to a home in the 82900 block of Amboy Road shortly before 11 a.m. During a search of the home, deputies found hallucinogenic mushrooms, methamphetamine, and prescription medication in the possession of Richard Herron, 62, of Twentynine Palms. Another man, Steven McLaughlin, 49, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine as well. After an investigation, Steven McLaughlin was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and for a probation violation, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000. Richard Herron was arrested on suspicion of unlawful sales of methamphetamine. He was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
