DONNA MUNOZ ANNOUNCES RUN FOR COUNTY SUPERVISOR

In a stunning, live announcement on Friday’s Z107.7 Up Close Show long-time community activist and civic leader Donna Munoz told host Gary Daigneault she aims to win the County Board of Supervisor’s 3rd District seat currently held by James Ramos in the November 2016 election. Reporter Mike Lipsitz spoke to Munoz immediately following the announcement…

No stranger to county administration, Donna Munoz has served in a number of capacities including field representative for three county supervisors, including James Ramos. Munoz told Z107.7 News that her experience as field rep made very clear to her what was necessary to be an effective county supervisor and best represent the district. She said, “I think the most important thing is to know your constituents and the only way to know them is to be out there among them.” She went on to say, “You know, as a field representative the thing I enjoyed most was the contact with the people; you know, going to the affairs, going to the functions, being out there, I think that’s very important.” The 3rd District stretches from Morongo Basin to Big Bear plus includes Yucaipa, Redlands, Highland, and Barstow. Munoz talked of a network of supporters throughout the district. What is abundantly clear is that more than Donna Munoz’ contacts, vision, and proven record, supporters will have to dig deep to compete with the power of Ramos’ vast personal wealth. Full disclosure, this reporter was also employed as a field rep for the current supervisor.

For Z107.7 News, this is assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz.
