DOMESTIC DISPUTE INCIDENT ESCALATES INTO VANDALISM

An argument between and boyfriend and girlfriend Monday escalated, and ended with a stolen dog, broken windows, and smashed items inside the home. According to a Sheriff’s report, Nieya Poellnitz, 32, was arguing with her boyfriend in the 7400 block of Deer Trail about 2:30 p.m. when Poellnitz deliberately broke a lamp, and threw her boyfriend’s records on the floor. She is then said to have gone outside and broke the two front windows with a rake, after which she grabbed her boyfriend’s pit bull and left with the dog. Her boyfriend attempted to follow her to get his dog back but lost her. Deputies found Poellnitz near Santa Fe Trail and Shawnee, took her into custody, and returned the dog to the boyfriend. After an investigation, Nieya Poellnitz was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
