DISSOLUTION OF YUCCA VALLEY RDA NEARLY COMPLETE

Three years after the State of California officially dissolved municipal redevelopment agencies, the dissolution of the Yucca Valley RDA is nearly complete. As of 2014, all properties formerly owned by the Yucca Valley Redevelopment Agency are now town properties, and identified for municipal use. Two weeks ago, the State Controller’s Office determined that the transfer of $14.5 million in assets by the RDA to the town were allowable transfers, and gave a clean audit of the transactions reviewed. During the coming months, the town council, acting in its role as the successor agency to the RDA, will review options for the former RDA properties, including the former PFF bank building, at the corner of Highway 62 and Joshua Lane. A copy of the State Controller’s Office report can be found on the town’s website at www.yucca-valley.org.
