CONSERVATION CORPS APPLICATION

As a regular hiker in Joshua Tree National Park, I appreciate the maintenance done on the trails.  Reporter Taylor Thacker says that teen-agers can be part of keeping the Park in shape, and get paid for it…

This summer, Joshua Tree National Park will sponsor an 8-week, Youth Conservation Corps program. Teens between the ages of 15 and 18 are encouraged to apply. Selected applicants will work from June 15th through August 6th and will receive minimum wage. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., with every other Friday off. The program provides young people of the community with excellent hands-on work experience. Work will be labor intensive and performed throughout the park. Application forms are available at the Joshua Tree National Park Headquarters in Twentynine Palms and must be returned or postmarked, no later than April 11, 2015. For more information call 760-367-5516.
