Morongo Basin Area drivers age 55 and older are invited to attend the upcoming “Age Well, Drive Smart” classes offered by the California Highway Patrol. The goal of the program is to help seniors maintain their driving independence for as long as they can safely drive. The course aims to help participants improve their driving skills and refresh their knowledge of the rules of the road, as well as how to adjust to normal age-related physical and mental changes. Classes will be offered at the Twentynine Palms City Hall on Tuesday, May 12, starting at 10 a.m., and at the Yucca Valley Town Hall on Wednesday, May 13, starting at 10 a.m. The classes normally last 1 ½ to 2 hours depending on participation and preregistration is not required.
