CHAIN LINK FENCING TARGETED BY THIEVES

Chain link fencing is apparently a hot commodity in Joshua Tree. The Sheriff’s Department received two reports of stolen fencing Friday.

About 200 feet of chain link fencing had been stolen sometime between Monday, April 6, and Friday, April 10, from a location near Avenida Del Sol and Canterbury Street. The fence’s white paint evidently did not act as a deterrent to thieves as its owner had hoped. Thieves also attempted to steal chain link fence on Sunever Road, just north of Highway 62 sometime between Sunday, April 5, and Friday, April 10. The owner reported that the fencing had been cut off the support poles and rolled up, but had been left on the ground. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
