CALTRANS TO HOLD MEETING IN MORONGO VALLEY TONIGHT

The new temporary flexible posts, called delineators, recently installed by CalTrans in the median on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley has upset many residents and drivers. CalTrans installed the delineators along a 6.3 mile stretch of the highway from Morongo Valley to Yucca Valley, with 10 left-hand turn pockets, to reduce the number of traffic collisions and fatalities. Z107.7, CalTrans, and the California Highway Patrol, have received many complaints that the left-hand turn pockets on the highway are in the wrong place, and that making U-turns are just as dangerous as making left-hand turns. CalTrans will hold a public information meeting about the project tonight, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Morongo Valley Community Services Building in Covington Park.
