BURN PERMITS SUSPENDED IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY

The County Fire Marshall has suspended all burn permits in unincorporated parts of San Bernardino county, as well as in Yucca Valley. Covered barbecues, recreational fires fueled solely by natural gas or propane, recreational and cooking fires within organized campgrounds and on private property that are otherwise permitted are exempt from the prohibition, as well as if an officer determines that conditions are safe for fires. Regardless of location or permit conditions, ALL open fires (except for fires fueled solely by natural gas or propane) must be extinguished during Red Flag or Fire Weather Watch Conditions, when local winds exceed 10 miles per hour, or when directed by Fire Department personnel. In State Responsibility Areas, check with CalFire for additional restrictions. Unlawful fires may result in administrative or legal penalties.
