BROWN BAG LECTURE AT HI-DESERT NATURE MUSEUM TOMORROW

The Hi-Desert Nature Museum presents February’s Brown Bag Lunch Lecture focused on the topic of traditional native plant use. In conjunction with the California Indian Feast Exhibit, Leslie Mouriquand M.A, RPA will discuss the cultural history of traditional plant use by the Cahuilla people and the uses of plants as medicines, foods and for ceremonies. The focus will be on mesquite, pinyon pine and chia. There will be samples for tasting along with recipes. The Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series is offered monthly at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum. Participants enjoy their lunch break with neighbors and friends while learning about an interesting topic related to the high desert. Lectures start at noon; admission is $5 per person or free with museum membership. Complimentary beverages will be served. For more information call 760-369-7212.
