BIRD-WATCHERS WANTED FOR JOSHUA TREE BIRD COUNT THIS SUNDAY

The annual Christmas Bird Count is set for this Sunday. Reporter Taylor Thacker says volunteers are being sought…
Birdwatchers are needed to help with the Joshua Tree National Park Christmas Bird Count. On Sunday, December 28, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., people interested in bird-watching should meet at the Indian Cove Ranger Station or the West Entrance Station to Joshua Tree National Park for a fun filled day with our beautiful local birds. Previous bird-watching experience is desirable, but not essential. Christmas Count data is used in many scientific studies and constitutes the largest body of information about wintering bird populations anywhere in the world. Participants should bring lunch, water, binoculars, field guides, and warm clothing. For more information call 760-366-8913.
