It’s the 48th Battle of the Bell tonight, when the undefeated Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat football team will try to beat cross-basin rival, the Yucca Valley High School Trojans, for the 11th consecutive year. At stake is the Kiwanis Club Bell, which has been in the Wildcat possession for 29 of the last 47 years. The Wildcats are 9-and-0 overall (5-and-0 in league play), while the Trojans are 3-and-6 overall and 1-and-4 in league. Kick off for the varsity game is 7 p.m., and fans are urged to arrive early at Tom Nicoll field in Twentynine Palms.
Both of the Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley junior varsity football teams are both 9-and-0 for the season. Their game starts at 4 p.m.
