ASSAULT, DRUGS, AND THEFTS IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

ROOMMATE DISPUTE LEADS TO ASSAULT ARREST
A dispute between roommates in Twentynine Palms resulted in the arrest of a woman after she was accused of pulling a knife. According to a Sheriff’s report, Brandy Martinez, 42, was arguing with another woman in the 74100 block of Pinon Drive. The report states Martinez pulled a kitchen steak knife and waved it in a threatening manner and started walking toward the victim. The woman believed that Martinez was going to stab her and her boyfriend. After an investigation, Brandy Martinez was arrested for assault with a weapon, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG ARRESTS
Four Twentynine Palms residents were arrested Thursday following a routine traffic stop, accused of various drug charges. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a white Chevy Surburban driving east on Baseline Road at North Star Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 2:15 a.m. Thursday morning. The deputy arrested the driver, Tony Pritchard, 43—who was driving on a suspended driver’s license—for investigation of being in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released. Sunshine Pritchard, 38, was cited and released for being under the influence of a controlled substance. Ronald Perez, 25, was arrested for investigation of the unlawful sale of speed, booked at the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $50,000. Charles Perez, 26, had multiple warrants for his arrest on various drug charges. Charles Perez was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his total bail set at $300,000.

VEHICLE BREAK-INS AND THEFTS
Three vehicles were broken into in Twentynine Palms, and one vehicle was reported stolen Thursday. According to Sheriff’s reports, residents in the 5200 block of Adobe Road, 5200 block of Split Rock Avenue, and 5100 block of Split Rock Avenue reported that suspects entered their vehicles and stole cash and other small items. In addition, a 2014 silver Kia Optima LX was stolen from a home in the 6200 block of Ocotillo Avenue sometime Wednesday night-Thursday morning. Detectives believe the cases may be linked.
