“ASHES TO GO” FOR ASH WEDNESDAY IN YUCCA VALLEY TOMORROW

“Ashes to Go” is an annual event that the St. Joseph of Arimathea Church has offered for the last three years. Reporter Rebecca Havely tells you how to get your Ash Wednesday drive-by blessing…
Vicar Jane Crase of St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church will be passing out Ash Wednesday blessings tomorrow at the Post Office in Yucca Valley. She’ll be there from noon until 2 p.m. Ash Wednesday is the start of the six weeks of Lent that precede Easter. The ashes are a sign of the repentance for past sins. They’re placed on the forehead in the sign of the cross to represent the promise that Easter brings. Any and all are welcome from any faith to swing by the post office, maybe on your lunch break, and be blessed. St. Joseph’s will hold an evening service as well tomorrow at the church at 6 p.m., located at 56312 Onaga Trail at the corner of Church Street in Yucca Valley.

Another Yucca Valley church is holding an Ash Wednesday evening service; the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church at 56750 Mountain View Trail. Their service is at 5 p.m. and all are welcome.
