Discover your inner artist at the first ever Joshua Tree National Park Art Show and Faire. On December 6th, 7th, and 8th, the Joshua Tree National Park staff along with the town of Twentynine Palms will host a three-day celebration of art and music at the historic Oasis of Mara. Festivities include a juried art show with an opening reception, awards, and a weekend art faire with artists’ booths, art demonstrations, cultural displays, park history presentations, youth art activities, and live music. The artwork displayed is demonstrating natural beauty and cultural history of Joshua Tree National Park and is created my local, national and international artists. These artists will compete for a $6,000 prize. The art show opens at noon on Friday, Dec. 6, at the 29 Palms Art Gallery, with an opening reception set for 5 to 8 p.m. For more information call 760-367-5520.
