ARRESTS FOR DRUG AND WEAPONS VIOLATIONS

Two Yucca Valley residents were arrested Monday morning, accused of being in possession of drugs and stolen checks. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies went to a home in the 6000 block of Marvin Drive about 10:20 Monday morning and found Christina Godfrey, 28, and Keith Hunt, 30, inside the home. Deputies also found methamphetamine, heroin, and stolen checks at the home. Christina Godfrey and Keith Hunt were arrested for a parole violation and are being held at the Morongo Basin Jail without bail.

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Wednesday afternoon, accused of selling methamphetamine. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped Gilbert Gonzales, 26, in the 6100 block of Ocotillo Avenue at noon Wednesday, for an improper registration for a 2006 red Chevrolet Cobalt. During the subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy found nine individually packaged bags of methamphetamine, totaling about one-half ounce. Gilbert Gonzales was arrested for investigation of unlawful sale of speed, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and released about 9:15 p.m. after posting a $50,000 bail.

A Yucca Valley felon was arrested last Friday afternoon, accused of having a loaded handgun in his possession. According to a Sheriff’s report, probation officers saw Jesse Palacios, 20, walking near Highway 62 and Avalon Avenue and made a probation check. During a search of Palacios, deputies found a .22-caliber revolver with 17 rounds of ammunition. Palacios is currently on felony probation for possession of narcotics and of a throwing star weapon. Jesse Palacios was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and held for violating his probation.
