ARREST MADE, VICTIM IDENTIFIED, IN TWENTYNINE PALMS MURDER

Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in the murder of a Twentynine Palms man early Thursday morning. According to a Sheriff’s press release, deputies were called to the 5500 block of Abronia Avenue at 3:04 a.m. for shots fired. When they arrived, they found Patrick McGee, 32, dead from a gunshot wound, and the suspect, Manuel Garcia, 26, had fled in a black GMC Envoy. Deputies searched the area for Garcia and the vehicle, and deputies from the Sheriff’s gang intervention team were called in and immediately broadcast a description of Garcia and his vehicle to local law enforcement agencies.

Sources told Z107.7 that a woman fled the home and ran to a neighbor’s house, banged on the door, and asked for help. No one else was injured.

Garcia was located about 10:50 a.m. Thursday in the Palm Springs area and was arrested for investigation of murder without incident. He is being held at the West Valley Detention Center with no bail.
